Each college team provides an athlete with a different experience.
There are very few college consultants that have the knowledge and expertise to guide students through the maze of rules and regulations to become collegiate athletes, Mark Bechthold of Mister B's is one of those experts.
Student athletes devote years of long term commitment towards a goal of continued incremental improvement. Their character is built on an ability to visualize what will be required to produce major accomplishments over an extended period of time. Quite simply, they have already learned and experienced what it takes to be successful.
Student athletes have well-developed time management skills and an understanding that success can be attained through hard work. They are naturally poised for both athletic and academic success in college.
It is important for student athletes to prioritize academics while searching for athletic programs that match their level of athletic skill, and provide team dynamics and a coaching style that will support.
Top 3 Reasons Student Athletes Fail to Be Recruited
Timing - If families begin thinking about the recruiting process late, they may miss the window of opportunity to optimize their recruiting experience.
Unrealistic Expectations - Some athletes (and their parents) fail to accurately assess their skill level relative to collegiate competition.
Failure to Self-Advocate - Far too many student athletes sit back and wait for coaches to reach out to them, rather than taking the initiative in the recruitment process themselves.
Aquatics
Mark Bechthold was an aquatics parent from the time his own children were very young (dating back to 1996). He spent years volunteering in various roles, including acting as a USA Swimming official. However, it was always Mark Bechthold’s greatest joy to be the team cheerleader. He could always be spotted at the turn end of the pool during swim meets or alongside the pool deck at water polo games.
Having guided his own children and several of their teammates through the recruiting process, Mark uses his knowledge of each sport as well as a practical understanding of the process to help student athletes to discover and choose their place to compete and study in college.
