Mark Bechthold earned his BS in Biochemistry, with a Statistics minor from the University of California, Davis. Following years of employment in a variety of STEM related fields, Mark went on to earn a College Counseling Certificate, with distinction, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
- While completing his Biochemistry degree, Mark pursued an internship with an Environmental Analytical Chemistry firm. This opportunity led to a career of consistently increasing responsibility over a 10 year period, which resulted in the title of “Senior Scientist” and involved operating advanced instrumentation and forecasting revenue.
- The next 10 years were devoted to strategic negotiation of hospital and physician group contracts at the managerial level for two different Healthcare networks.
- For the next 13 years, as part of the largest medical group of independent physicians in Northern California, Mark evaluated complex physician performance data and implemented analytical tools to assure data quality.
The degree to which Mark is a supportive individual can be seen in his many years as a swim parent. He became well-known as the cheerleader at the turn end of the pool, cheering on each member of the team (not only his own children) to strive for incremental improvement. Throughout the years that his son and daughter competed in swimming and water polo at the high school level, Mark was recognized by coaches, parents, and athletes for the inspiration he provided.
Mark Bechthold maintains membership in good standing within the following professional associations, each of which sets individual membership requirements, including criteria based on dedication to professional integrity, years of specialized experience, education, training, campus knowledge, and a firm commitment to continuing education.
